    Did the Curse Wheel curse succeed?

    • YES; the Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks 37-38

    How Bad Was the Curse?

    • OOOOHHH BOY
    • With 9:48 left in the 4th quarter, the Seahawks were down 30-14 when Seahawks QB Sam Darnold got intercepted. This brought the Rams up to a 98.8% win chance, their highest win percentage in the game.
    • The Rams drive immediately after goes nowhere and so they punt, but Seahawks WR Rashid Shaheed runs it in for a punt return touchdown, bringing it to 30-20. The Seahawks go for a two-point conversion and succeed, now 30-22.
    • The Rams next drive after that Seahawks touchdown also ended in a punt with 7:09 left in the 4th Quarter, only for the Seahawks to score another touchdown in two plays, now 30-28.
    • The Seahawks go for another two-point conversion to tie the game. This one was initially ruled incomplete but was overturned, with how it was overturned being a rather bizarre set of specific circumstances:
      • Darnold unintentionally threw a backwards pass.
      • The pass was blocked by Rams defender Jared Verse, which bounced forward towards the end zone.
      • Rams Safety Kam Curl leaps forward to try to catch the bounced pass but doesn’t, arguably helping move it even further into the end zone.
      • However, since Darnold threw a backwards pass, that blocked pass was therefore technically a fumble.
      • The ball was finally just chilling out in the end zone since everyone thought it was a dead ball, so Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet simply recovered the ball… but inadvertantly (and officially) scored the two-point conversion, tying the game, 30-30.
    • At 2:11 left in the 4th Quarter, the Rams try to kick a field goal to potentially make it 33-30, but Rams kicker Harrison Mevis kicks it wide right.
    • Overtime! Rams get the ball first and get a touchdown, now 37-30, giving the ball to the Seahawks. The Seahawks then get a touchdown themselves… and they go for two points AGAIN. That attempt is successful and the Seahawks win, 38-37.
    • Stat-wise, the Rams outperformed the Seahawks. The Seahawks also suffered three turnovers while the Rams had none. But in the end, the Curse Wheel had spoken.

    • Kansas City Chiefs (“Fuck KC”)
    • Pittsburg Steelers (#12)

    Did the Curse Wheel curse succeed?

    • YES; the Chiefs lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 13-16
    • NO*; the Steelers defeated the Miami Dolphins 28-15

    How Bad Was the Curse?

    • Another week where the primary cursed team decisively beat the curse. The Chiefs’ curse was a pre-show spin by Perna, where it landed on the “Fuck KC” slot (previously assigned to “Me Personally”)
    • At worst, the curse did give the Dolphins a bit of an edge against the Steelers in the first half, letting them score first and keeping the Steelers from scoring anything more than a touchdown by Halftime. But in the second half, all bets were off.
    • The “NO*” rating is due to Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt suffering a partially collapsed/punctured lung after a physical therapist botched a dry needling attempt. I’d say at worst this is a draw, since the Steelers still mightily defeated the Dolphins. Regardless, I’m still counting it as a failed curse overall, mostly because I don’t want to be like “well this week it’s only half a curse, and then Week 8 was only 1/3rd of a curse”… but I wouldn’t disagree if you want to think of it as a half curse.
    • Meanwhile, the Chiefs were doing well in the first half against the Chargers, reaching an 85.5% win percentage in the 2nd Quarter. However, not only did they collapse in the second half, but the game ended with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes tearing his ACL. Finally, this loss meant they were officially eliminated from the post season.

  • Week 14, 2025

    Who did the Curse Wheel curse?

    • Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans (#12; combined)

    Did the Curse Wheel curse succeed?

    • YES; the Colts lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 19-36
    • NO; the Texans defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 10-20

    How Bad Was the Curse?

    • Colts lose again to the Jaguars in Jacksonville for the 11th time in a row.
    • Colts QB Daniel Jones suffers a right Achilles tendon injury and may be out for the season. Colts coach Shane Steichen said “it’s not looking good”.
    • Meanwhile the Texans obliterate the Chiefs in a game that honestly felt like the Chiefs were the ones cursed instead. There was a doinked field goal by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, and Mahomes threw three interceptions, including one where Kelce bobbled the ball to effectively seal the game (which was also the 10th consecutive incomplete or intercepted pass by Mahomes, a dubious career record).
    • Mahomes ended the game with an embarrassing 19.8 passer rating, far worse than his previous low of 42.4 against the San Francisco 49ers last season (and even that game was still a win for KC).
    • With the win by Jaguars and Texans, the Colts drop from 1st to 3rd in the AFC South.
    • Perna promises that if he reaches 1 million subs this season he will burn the Curse Wheel… but that might be a problem because at least the Wheel arguably contains and restains the Curses.
    • UPDATE: It’s gotten so bad that the Colts dug up retired QB Philip Rivers to be Jones’ possible replacement for the season. What, was Andrew Luck too young?

    Did the Curse Wheel curse succeed?

    • YES; the Colts lost to the Houston Texans 16-20

    How Bad Was the Curse?

    • Colts kicker Michael Badgley missed a PAT after the Colts’ first touchdown
    • Texans kept the Colts to 16 points, the lowest the Colts have scored this season
    • Refs were also definitely absorbing some of the Curse Wheel’s power by not calling key penalties: at 14:51 in the 4th Quarter, not only was an obvious delay of game against CJ Stroud NOT called, but then there was a phantom PI on Kenneth Moore on a 3rd and 15 to bring the Texans into the red zone to eventually score the game-winning touchdown.

    Did the Curse Wheel curse succeed?

    • INCONCLUSIVE; the Broncos were on a Bye week this week.
      • YES; Broncos QB Bo Nix broke his ankle after defeating the Buffalo Bills 33-30 during the AFC Divisional Round and is out for the rest of the season.
    • YES; the Panthers lost to the San Francisco 49ers 9-20

    How Bad Was the Curse?

    • The Panthers picked off Brock Purdy THREE TIMES but only scored a field goal off the third pick.
    • The Panthers’ drive after their first pick ended with Bryce Young getting intercepted as well.
    • After the Panthers’ only touchdown and successfully kicking the extra point, a penalty was called against 49er Jordan Elliott for Unnecessary Roughness. This brought them up to the 1-yard line, allowing for the Panthers to go for a two-point conversion instead… only to fail that.
    • Meanwhile the Broncos had a Bye week this week, so it remains to be seen if the Broncos dodged a bullet or if the Curse Wheel will get its pound of flesh in the end.
      • UPDATE 2026-01-17: the Curse Wheel DID get its pound of flesh after causing Broncos QB Bo Nix to break his ankle in the penultimate play of their game against the Buffalo Bills.
      • Replacing Bo Nix is Broncos backup QB Jarrett Stidham, who has the dubious record of being the first backup QB to play an NFL championship game since 1950 with zero prior snaps in a game that season.
